Whether we like it or not, social media is here to stay... 87% of people now Google you prior to meeting you. So we can either guide and cultivate it to work in our favour or leave it to do its own thing and have a negative impact. It was an honour to speak at the Social Media Summit to deliver my "no-fluff" Instagram strategies to build a following and position leaders above the online noise.
I’m not going to sit here and sugar coat things; many people have a perception of entrepreneurship as ‘glamourous.’ It’s not. I know entrepreneurs who have eaten nothing but pasta for a week, been kicked out of their apartments and become so late with payments that they got put in prison.
Success. We all want it. But, few are prepared to put in the hard graft required. Bill Gates didn’t just wake up one morning lying on billions of dollars – it took years of learning, strategising and hard work. Yep, those 5am morning wake-ups and weekends spent indoors working were AWFUL, but they sure were worth it to now be working for myself.
We have watched the rise of Influencers. "Joe Bloggs" started crafting an online brand and has grown an online community of thousands of followers. Snarling and unimpressed by the reflection before him, the Voice hurls insults at the mirror. One after the other. The same hatred that was thrown yesterday, and the day before that. Stopping negative self talk had a hugely positive impact on my life. But, it didn't happen overnight. Here are my tips so you can have a more positive outlook too.
I think I've heard every objection under the sun! And I used to feel defeated. When I changed my mindset and practised, my business started to increase. Through practice, I started to realise that objections were actually opportunities to further convey how great my service is! So you can make more sales, here are my top tips.
Because it feels so good to get validated, other people’s opinions suddenly have more value than our own. Often, especially in our professional lives, we hide in the trenches rather than take risks to share our true thoughts; afraid of what others may think. Afraid of losing business and relationships. Afraid of appearing as 'wrong.' Here is why you should speak up.
"Why do you work so hard?!" is what people my age ask me. They can't fathom why I'd rather stay home and work on strategy for my clients, read a book, or learn something new. I CHOOSE to have my business. I could go to bunches every week if I wanted too! Here is what I say back.
I’m in my element for one-on-one conversations with people: animated, alive and passionate for information. With boisterous partygoers, my talkative and energetic demeanour disappears. I get tired and disengage from the conversation. If you are an introverted-extrovert you will know how confusing this is! Here are 8 reasons why you may be one too.
